I’m sure by now if you felt one way or the other about Obamacare and regardless of the outcome of the Supreme Court ruling, you as an individual had zero control over this issue as well as many other decisions that our Government makes.
Whether or not you agree with the ruling is inconsequential to the fact that our Government makes stupid decisions. Bit by bit the liberties given to us under the US constitution are being nibbled away and being replaced with a one world society view and economic system. Many people have forgotten the imminent domain law that the Supremes handed down not so many years ago (If you we paying attention) that basically allow the Government to take you land.
For me, yesterday marked the final departure of the way the USA will be moving forward from now on. I think I had to some degree held on to the romantic notion that right would always prevail over wrong with our decision makers even though every mentor and coach I have had says “Turn off the TV, stop watching the news, and thrive under the rules and laws you have been dealt”. It’s a bitter pill to swallow.
So what does Obamacare really mean? Here are some of my points
1. Never get sick! Really! If you find yourself staring in the mirror in the morning wondering how you are going to loose that extra 60 pounds you’ve been carrying around with you, I suggest you take the education of and actions of weight loss a lot more seriously. This also applies to any other vices you may have that affect your health in a negative way.
For those of you going to the doctors office now you’ll notice that they are always busy. In Socialized medicine programs health care rationing and quality of care is about to e get a lot worse. Imagine waiting 3 months to get an MRI or a year to get a surgery. This is what our medical system is going to look like in a few short years. So staying away from the Doctors office is going to be huge as it relates to you. If you do not believe me ask our Canadian neighbors what they thing of their healthcare system.
2. On top of your healthcare plan, start preparing financially for needing to pay out of network for instant medical care. This means if you want and need immediate medical care you’ll be paying out of pocket to jump ahead of others that are waiting.
3. Do some soul searching! It’s Friday night, pour a glass of wine or any other adult beverage, put on your favorite music and take an hour to evaluate your life where it is right now, and what it might look like in 10, 20 and 30 years. If the picture is ugly take steps now to change it. Educate yourself, learn how our tax laws work, open a business, downsize (with a high quality of life). Prepare yourself for what’s coming down the road. Learn how to function in the new world order and take care of yourself and your family.
Our country crossed the final threshold yesterday and will be fundamentally changed forever. This does not pertain just to healthcare but also to debt and the overall economy.
I suggest everybody get to work.
